CORETX establishes IT apprenticeship programme

CORETX has today announced the establishment of a new IT apprenticeship programme.

Digital IT Apprenticeship standards

CORETX’s apprenticeship scheme will meet the Digital IT Apprenticeship standards set by the BCS, the UK’s Chartered Institute for IT. On 1 February, the company will welcome candidates to an assessment day at its Croydon head office, from which 10 young people will be invited to join the scheme.

Roles and location

Selected apprentices will shortly afterwards join the company full time, for a fixed term of 12 months. During their apprenticeship, they’ll gain valuable new skills and the potential to develop a career in technology. Eight of the apprentices will work towards becoming accredited Infrastructure Technicians. Two will work towards IT Applications Specialist accreditation. The roles will be located in cities around the country, including London, Reading and Manchester.

Pipeline of skills

The apprenticeship programme will allow CORETX’s staff to impart their knowledge, at the same time as supporting the development of a pipeline of skills for the business. CORETX employs a large number of highly-skilled, senior engineers, many of whom will be involved in mentoring the apprentices. While apprentices in the scheme aren’t guaranteed a permanent role at the end of the 12-month period, it’s envisaged that many will be offered one.
